Effective January 1, 2023, NM Board of Nursing hours will be 8am to 5pm. We will be closed from 12 noon to 1 pm for lunch Monday through Friday.

Continuing Nursing Education

All nurses/certificate holders with an active license are required to demonstrate continuing competency for relicensure.

Complaints & Discipline

The mission of the New Mexico Board of Nursing is to protect the public safety through effective regulation of nursing care and services. One way the Board accomplishes this is by receiving complaints and disciplining licensees and certificate holders who violate the law and rules.

Disciplinary Actions

The Board has continued to promote a transparent disciplinary process. Disciplinary hearings are conducted in accordance with the “Open Meetings Act” NMSA 1978, Chapter 10, Article 15 and all disciplinary actions are listed on the Board website and published in the Board newsletter quarterly.
